In the middle of the sea and 194 kilometers (105 nautical miles) from the coast, the Argentine Naval Prefecture carried out an emergency air evacuation of a crew member who was on board the fishing vessel "Magdalena".
The procedure began when the vessel's captain informed the Comodoro Rivadavia Maritime Traffic Management Center that one of the crew members, 47 years old, was experiencing chest pain and pain in the lower left side, accompanied by high blood pressure.
Immediately, a radio consultation was held with the Force's doctors, who indicated medication, rest, and the man's disembarkation. Given the persistence of the clinical picture and after a new medical evaluation, the professionals recommended an air evacuation, which activated the rescue operation.
Immediately, the national Maritime Authority deployed the PA-25 plane and the PA-41 helicopter, which departed from Viedma and Comodoro Rivadavia, respectively.
After the approach maneuvers, the patient was hoisted using a rescue basket and transported by air to solid ground, where an ambulance was waiting to transfer him to a medical center for continued medical treatment.
For now, the man remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit for medical studies.
