Departure port Malaga
Itinerary Europe - Western Mediterranean
Hello from Legend of the Seas! How exciting to finally be onboard this beautiful ship! I haven't had much time to do anything yet, but grab a bite to eat at one of my favorite spots – El Loco Fresh – and soak up the party atmosphere on the pool deck. Speaking of party atmosphere, right from the port entrance to walking on to the ship there has been a great atmosphere, as hopefully you can see from these pictures and videos.
I have to do my muster drill now and then I'm meeting up with the onboard film crew to do a few videos about the ship, in particular: cabins and dining.
I'm in a fun Surfside Family Cabin, complete with bunk beds (even though I'm solo!), so please feel free to ask me anything you like about my cabin and the ship!
I'm at the airport! My flight to Malaga leaves shortly from Heathrow and although we've already had a message from the airline about possible Air Traffic Control delays, I'm still hoping for an on time arrival at Noon CET (6 a.m. ET). It's just a half hour ride to the port from the airport, so I'm hoping to be on Legend before 2 p.m. CET. Once I'm onboard, I will be posting shots and videos and answering all your questions. Stand by!
In just 4 days I will be back onboard Legend of the Seas! Yes – back onboard – I was on Royal Caribbean's latest Icon-class ship just a couple of weeks ago, but not a for a cruise, but for the delivery ceremony at the shipyard in Turku, Finland.
After the ceremony, I whizzed round the ship in just over a hour (take a look at the video: "One Hour on Legend of the Seas"), checking out what's new such s Legend Station – Royal Railway, new menus at the AquaDome Market, the new, double-height casino and we even got a sneak preview of the new show onboard, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
I also got a sneak peek at some cabins, ate in the Windjammer Cafe, experienced the awesome Pearl, the centerpiece of the Royal Promenade and walked through the family neighborhood, Surfside (complete with a new-look Carousel).
I fly to Malaga on Monday to board the ship for a 4-day cruise with stops in Tarragona, La Spezia and Rome – short and sweet, but enough for a good taster – and most importantly, to answer all your questions about Legend of the Seas!
