A 366-meter long vessel, belonging to the shipping company Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has become the largest ship to call at the Port of Bilbao, Spain.
This was the MSC Ruby, which, in addition to its 366 meters in length, has a beam of 48 meters and a capacity for 13,000 TEUs.
The vessel arrived at 7 AM local Spanish time this Wednesday at the container terminal of CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal from Sines, Portugal. The container ship will depart on Thursday bound for Le Havre, France.
The terminal where this vessel arrived has a draft of 21 meters and has used its new generation super post-Panamax (Ship To Shore) crane for the ship's operations. This equipment substantially increases the operational capacity of the terminal, boosting productivity and efficiency in its operations by incorporating the latest technology and features available for loading and unloading container ships operating in Bilbao.
