The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports that Argentine egg product exports reached a value exceeding USD 20.23 million in the first eight months of 2026, according to INDEC foreign trade data analyzed by the Undersecretariat of Agricultural and Forestry Production. The amount achieved constitutes the highest recorded for a January-August period in the last ten years.
During the period, 2,580 tons were traded, representing an increase of close to 18% in the value of exports compared to the same period of the previous year, mainly driven by improved export prices.
Denmark, Japan, Austria, and Chile concentrated approximately 80% of the shipments, while the rest was distributed among various markets in Europe, Asia, and America, including North Macedonia, Sweden, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Mexico.
Argentina maintains a consolidated trajectory as an exporter of egg products and international recognition associated with the quality of its production. Among the main products traded are whole egg, yolk, and powdered albumin, used as inputs by various food industries, including mayonnaise, baked goods, pasta, puddings, and ice cream.
This performance takes place in a context of market recovery and diversification, favored by the reopening of destinations after Argentina's declaration as a country free of Avian Influenza and by the commercial opportunities derived from the Mercosur-European Union Agreement.
The egg production chain also constitutes an activity of economic and territorial relevance, with a presence mainly in Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Mendoza, and Salta, where it generates employment and productive activity and contributes to the supply of an expanding domestic market.
