Milk Production and Consumption Grew Over 4% in the First 8 Months of 2026

Argentina's milk production and domestic consumption both increased by over 4% in the first eight months of 2026, reaching 7.515 billion liters produced. Exports also saw significant growth, generating $1.130 billion, primarily driven by sales to Brazil, Algeria, Chile, and China.

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports, according to the latest analysis by the National Dairy Directorate, that milk production in the first 8 months of the year grew by 4.5% year-on-year, with a total of 7.515 billion liters.

Regarding the behavior of domestic consumption, it also showed an advance in the same period of around 4.2%.

Milk export markets presented year-on-year growth in the accumulated January-August 2026 period, reaching 2.086 billion liters of equivalent milk, contributing foreign currency for 1.130 billion dollars, driven by four main markets: Brazil, Algeria, Chile, and China.

Macroeconomic stability, good climatic conditions, and the technification process of dairy farms contribute to improving indicators in the three central vertices of the dairy chain: exports, production, and consumption.
