In the town of Los Menucos, Río Negro, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) conducted a training on sanitary requirements for livestock transport for 44 officers from the School of Non-Commissioned Officers and agents of the provincial Police.
The activity took place at the Belgrano Neighborhood Community Center, seeking to strengthen and integrate SENASA's sanitary control and surveillance actions with provincial organizations and security forces. The session was led by professionals from SENASA's Patagonia Norte Regional Center and the Río Negro Livestock Directorate.

During the activity, the main sanitary requirements for animal movement were detailed, among which the issuance of the electronic Transit Document (DT-e) and identification systems, such as brands, signals, and individual electronic identification devices, in accordance with SENASA Resolution N° 841/2025, were highlighted. In this context, the inspection carried out on producers and transporters during road controls and checkpoints was specified.
Similarly, the agenda included specific conditions for the transfer of equines and the requirements for the authorization of vehicles transporting different species, established in SENASA Resolution N° 723/2025, with the aim of guaranteeing optimal sanitary conditions and animal welfare. In addition, the procedure for infractions in case of non-compliance with current regulations was explained.

Furthermore, during the session, the main actions of epidemiological surveillance carried out by SENASA for mandatory notifiable diseases, such as bovine brucellosis and tuberculosis, rabies, trichinosis, and foot-and-mouth disease, were presented. Regarding the latter, the main aspects of the regional strategy in Patagonia, recognized by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) as a Foot-and-Mouth Disease Free Zone Without Vaccination, were addressed.
