The National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) implemented a special procedure to support the commercialization and facilitate the transfer of plants to and from the National Orchid and Provincial Flower Festival, held in the Misiones town of Montecarlo.
The initiative, carried out together with the municipality and the event organization, included advice on compliance with phytosanitary requirements to contribute to the care of plant health.

Promoted through the SENASA Corrientes-Misiones Regional Center, the experience allowed organizing the necessary documentation for the movement of plants commercialized during the exhibition, from their entry to the premises to their transfer to other destinations safely and minimizing the risk of plant pests.
13 ornamental plant exhibitors participated in the show and 130 electronic Vegetable Transit Documents (DTV-e) were issued, covering the transfer of the plants sold, both to other nurseries and to final consumers.
In this way, those who acquired orchids or other plants during the Festival were able to manage the corresponding documentation on the premises to transfer them to their destination, in accordance with the applicable requirements.

To streamline the process, the event organization provided support staff and set up a service point at the exit of the premises that assisted the public in using the document issuance system.
The experience also aroused the interest of establishments in the sector to advance in registration with the RENFO of SENASA. Since its implementation, inquiries and registration requests from nurseries have increased and six new establishments have already been registered, while others continue to advance in the process.
These actions contribute to providing information on phytosanitary requirements and promoting the participation of nurseries in complying with measures aimed at caring for plant health.
