With the aim of safeguarding the zoophytosanitary status of agricultural production and consumer health, so far this year the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (SENASA) has denatured 45 tons of plant-based products, 30,000 units of propagation material, and 23 tons of products and by-products of animal origin, which were being transported irregularly on routes in the provinces of Tucumán, Catamarca, and Santiago del Estero.
This is the result of 18 roadside verification operations on transports of live animals, plant products, and agri-food carried out in the aforementioned provinces, within the jurisdictional scope of SENASA's NOA Sur Regional Center.

Meanwhile, in 2025, in these three provinces, SENASA seized and denatured 30 tons of plant-based products, 5 units of propagation material, and 2 tons of products and by-products of animal origin, detected being transported in violation during 28 roadside verification operations.
The regional team implements comprehensive roadside actions through a system of zoophytosanitary barriers that integrate agents from the Animal Health, Plant Protection, and Agri-Food Safety and Quality coordinations, covering all the Agency's responsibilities in one place.

To this end, the NOA Sur Regional Center plans operations in which personnel from its various local offices also participate. It develops a strategic schedule that allows for rotation along the routes within its area of competence, selecting locations according to the season, seeking to refine controls based on the movement of specific animals or crops.
Each action of this type is, at the same time, an educational activity for producers and transporters, with the main objective of disseminating sanitary regulations, in addition to applying corrective measures when required.

These types of comprehensive inspections are an action that consolidates SENASA's presence on the routes, both at fixed and mobile quarantine control points, and with the incorporation of technological monitoring tools that complement traditional physical verification, efficiency and modernization are added to the work.
