The National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA) held a new training extension session on the Artificial Digestion technique for the diagnosis of trichinellosis and the compliance requirements for the Laboratories of the Organism's National Network.
The session, held at the headquarters of the Buenos Aires North Regional Center, was aimed at technical directors and auxiliary personnel from private sector laboratories, heads of veterinary inspection services, and supervisors in pork slaughterhouses, belonging to the Organism.
The opening of the course was led by the director of the Buenos Aires North Regional Center and the coordinator of Agri-Food Safety and Quality. The theoretical conceptual development and laboratory practice were carried out by those responsible for SENASA's Martínez laboratory.

Thus, during the first part of the course, the requirements stipulated in the Good Laboratory Practices annex of Resolution 1446/2024 were reviewed. Subsequently, the approval requirements for laboratories of animal origin foods, particularly regarding trichinellosis, were addressed, and finally, a review of Resolution 45/2024.
The practical part consisted of a live demonstration of Artificial Digestion and visualization of Trichinella spp. larvae, carried out by SENASA personnel.
Personnel from the private sector and SENASA agents participated in the session, belonging to slaughterhouses in the localities of La Adela (La Pampa), Rio Colorado (Río Negro), and Chivilcoy, San Andrés de Giles, Roque Pérez, Mercedes, Capitán Sarmiento, Carmen de Areco, Chascomús, General Arenales, Rojas, Saladillo, Suipacha, Junín, Bolívar, and General Belgrano (Buenos Aires).
