The Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) for Argentina and Uruguay, Adam Weise, visited the facilities of the Prefectura Naval Argentina, within the framework of the technical cooperation activities that the Institution develops with said program.
The day began with an official audience with the National Naval Prefect, Prefecto General Guillermo José Giménez Pérez. Subsequently, the delegation attended a presentation, led by the Director General of Maritime and Port Security, Prefecto General Ricardo Oviedo, on the Institution's capabilities in maritime security, intelligence, and the use of technological tools for the prevention and detection of illicit activities.

During the exhibition, the applications of the Coast Guard System for vessel profiling, the exchange and analysis of maritime intelligence information, and the monitoring of vessels in national jurisdiction were highlighted.
Next, the officials moved to the operational units of the Directorate of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations, where they were able to learn firsthand about the institutional capabilities linked to the investigation and prevention of complex and transnational crimes, including money laundering, human trafficking, and drug trafficking.

The meeting aimed to publicize the capabilities and experiences developed by the national Maritime Authority in the prevention and fight against transnational organized crime and to strengthen cooperation ties with the INL program.
In this framework, the visit allowed for progress in the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as in the identification of opportunities to deepen technical cooperation and capacity building, promoting future joint initiatives and coordination with authorities and security forces from other countries in the region to strengthen the coordinated response to threats linked to transnational organized crime.
