The procedure was carried out in the Barranqueras stream, under the guidelines of the PIR-95 Flood Plan and the Plata Basin Coordination Plan 2026/2027, in articulation with the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE).
To carry out the tasks, the Force deployed a vessel with three personnel, including two rescue swimmers, who surveyed the sector to identify vulnerable situations and assess the needs of the inhabitants affected by the flood.
During navigation, personnel made contact with island residents and neighbors who remain settled on the right bank of the waterway, in order to ascertain their situation and offer assistance.
In this context, the personnel transported a 78-year-old woman, a resident of Villa Forestación, who presented respiratory problems and ailments in both legs. In coordination with health services, she was transferred to a meeting point on the right bank, where an ambulance received her to take her to the nearest health center.
Additionally, in the Cinco Bocas area, in Puerto Vilelas, the Coast Guard evacuated a 50-year-old man whose home had been isolated from land access. After the transfer by river, the personnel disembarked him so that he could be housed in the jurisdiction's evacuation center.
With this deployment, the national Maritime Authority continues to work in the areas affected by floods, with specialized means and personnel to provide assistance to the population, facilitate necessary transfers, and respond to emergency situations arising from the flood.
