The operation began when Force personnel, as part of the SENADE operation, were conducting preventive patrol duties and spotted, at kilometer 186.6 of the Uruguay River, a woman in the middle of the channel, crying for help and struggling to stay afloat.
Immediately, the uniformed officers headed to the location and activated the rescue protocol, successfully pulling her from the water and securing her aboard the national Maritime Authority's vessel.
Upon reaching the shore, the woman received medical assistance and was subsequently transferred to the local hospital for further care.
The local Prosecutor's Office, led by Dr. Eduardo Santos, is involved in the case.
