The activity aimed to survey and analyze aspects related to the management, administration, and selection of ship and company auditors, considering applicable regulations, established procedures, and practices implemented within the Department. Likewise, the tasks allowed for gathering information on the development of processes and the control mechanisms applied, according to the defined scope for the project.
During the working sessions, the Audit team held interviews with the personnel involved, reviewed the applicable documentation and procedures, and analyzed the activities carried out, with the objective of obtaining information that contributes to evaluating their operation and degree of adequacy to current regulations.
In this context, it is highlighted that the Directorate of Navigation Security Police, in its capacity as the governing body of the process, has a Quality Management System certified according to the IRAM-ISO 9001 standard, aimed at the standardization of processes, the strengthening of control mechanisms, and the continuous improvement of management.
Likewise, the Prefectura Naval Argentina has certification according to Referential N.° 13/2017-SIGEN, linked to the implementation of a Quality Management System for Internal Audit Units, which constitutes a framework for strengthening audit practices, assurance, and continuous improvement of its processes.
The tasks carried out by the General Inspectorate Directorate are part of the actions aimed at strengthening the Institutional Internal Control System, through the survey, analysis, and monitoring of processes, promoting the identification of improvement opportunities and contributing to the development of efficient, transparent management oriented towards continuous improvement.
