The award ceremony for the Argentine Naval Prefecture Cup 216th Anniversary was held this Saturday at the Vilas Hall of the Club Náutico Mar del Plata (CNMP), where sailors from different categories were honored. Throughout several competition days, these sailors achieved the best results in the regattas that year after year pay tribute to the National Maritime Authority.
The ceremony was presided over by the vice president of the CNMP, José Luis Godoy; and included the participation of the Head of Operations of the Mar del Plata Prefecture, Prefecto Principal Marcelo Ariel Serrano; and superior and subordinate personnel of the Force, who presented the medals to the outstanding competitors.
In this context, Prefecto Principal Serrano gave a speech in which he emphasized the positive impact of sports on the community, and highlighted that nautical competition shares values with the Prefecture, such as commitment, discipline, effort, and, fundamentally, respect for the sea and for those who sail it.
It is worth remembering that the Argentine Naval Prefecture Cup is organized by the Club Náutico Mar del Plata as part of the commemorative activities for a new anniversary of the creation of the Maritime Authority.
This year, the regattas, which brought together more than 500 competitors, took place during almost all of September: they began on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6, continued on the 12 and 13, and concluded on Saturday 26 with the participation of the PHRF class.
The award ceremony began with a tango dance show by the Mar del Plata couple Lola Gutiérrez Rey and Emmanuel Marín, who received applause from all present.
Immediately afterwards, the medals were presented, and in the Optimist Principiantes category, Olivia Rua won gold, Elena Angeleri obtained a silver medal, and Olivia Fagnani took bronze.
In Optimist Timoneles, Ian Casis was crowned winner, followed by Imanol Fernández Negri, while Facundo Domínguez completed the podium.
Meanwhile, in ILCA 6, Franco Riquelme Antonetti won the gold medal, Marlene Riquelme Antonetti the silver, and Alejandro Capizzano the bronze.
In the Raptor category, the vessel “África” took first place, “Martes 13” finished second, while “Industricidio” completed the top positions.
In the PHRF class, the last competition of the championship, the yachts and their respective crews were also recognized. In Series A, “Fran”, composed of Franco Riquelme Antonetti, Mateo Castañer, Francisco Agüero, and Mariano Arbelaiz, prevailed over “Piltrafa Max”, thus securing first place and winning the PNA 2026 Challenger Cup.
Meanwhile, in Series B, “Libertad” was faster than “Alucinante”; while in Series C, “Chaval” achieved first position and “Magoo” finished in second place.
Thus, in a pleasant and celebratory atmosphere, a new edition of the Argentine Naval Prefecture Cup concluded, which was once again held in Mar del Plata in honor of the National Maritime Authority.
