The operation began when Force personnel, aboard a vessel, were carrying out river patrol duties at kilometer 1922.5 of the Paraná River. At that moment, they observed in the distance a boat whose occupants were unloading several packages on the Argentine coast and quickly returning to the neighboring country.
Immediately, the officers went to the location, finding 11 closed packages that emitted a strong odor. Subsequently, the presence of cannabis sativa was confirmed.
In total, 11 bales were counted, distributed in 690 bricks, with a weight exceeding 573 kilograms, whose market value amounts to 2.165 billion pesos.
The Federal Court of Puerto Iguazú, headed by Dr. Marcelo Cardozo, is intervening in the case.
