During the day, the official greeted the institution's personnel and held a meeting with the authorities, where he learned about the main activities carried out by the Argentine Naval Prefecture in the southern region, related to navigation safety, the protection of human life at sea, and environmental preservation.
In this context, he toured the Ushuaia Maritime Traffic Management Center, where he learned about the tasks of monitoring and tracking the movement of ships and vessels within the Prefecture's jurisdiction.
He also visited the Ushuaia National Merchant Marine Personnel Training and Qualification School, an institution dedicated to the training and qualification of those who carry out professional activities aboard Merchant Marine vessels.
To conclude the visit, Dr. Ferlauto signed the Book of Honorary Visitors of the Ushuaia and South Atlantic Islands Prefecture, recording his visit to the Dependency.
The day highlighted the important work carried out by the Force's personnel in the southern region, permanently contributing to navigation safety, the safeguarding of human life, the control of maritime spaces, and the protection of national interests in a strategic region of the country.
