During the working days, which also include the Secretary for International Affairs of the Institution, Prefect Major Ricardo Antonio Romero, various documents and topics of regional interest will be addressed, including navigation safety, maritime protection, technical assistance and cooperation, and the strengthening of collaboration mechanisms among the Maritime Authorities of the member states.
In this framework, the Argentine Naval Prefecture presented six documents reflecting the progress and results achieved in the working groups by correspondence. In addition, it presented a new educational offer for homologous institutions and made available the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS).

ROCRAM constitutes a strategic forum for regional articulation, exchange of experiences, and development of joint initiatives in maritime safety and protection. Its Secretariat, whose leadership rotates every two years among the member Maritime Authorities, is currently held by DICAPI. Its main functions include coordinating network activities, promoting training actions driven by the International Maritime Organization through the Integrated Technical Cooperation Program (ITCP), strengthening regional cooperation, and articulating with international organizations.
In this context, and as an expression of the Institution's commitment to regional cooperation, the National Naval Prefect formalized, during the previous edition of the meeting, Argentina's offer to assume the ROCRAM Secretariat, a proposal that will materialize within the framework of the current meeting.
Assuming this responsibility represents significant recognition of the Argentine Naval Prefecture's trajectory, capabilities, and international commitment. Likewise, it constitutes an opportunity to deepen articulation among the Maritime Authorities of the Americas, promote new cooperation initiatives, and contribute to achieving common objectives of safeguarding human life, protecting the marine environment, strengthening navigation safety, and facilitating aquatic trade.
