The operation was carried out based on intelligence work and preventive patrolling on the Costa Uruguay Sur road, at kilometer 87 of the Uruguay River, where Force personnel intercepted a truck transporting fish products.
During the inspection, officers verified that the driver did not have the supporting documentation for the cargo. They also confirmed that the refrigeration unit was turned off and that the security seals were irregularly placed.
Given this situation, the Director of Natural Resources and Fiscalization of the province of Entre Ríos, Mario Zárate, was notified and ordered the opening of the refrigeration unit to inspect its contents.
As a result, it was confirmed that the vehicle was transporting 286 specimens of sábalo, boga, and carp, with a total weight of 710 kilograms and an estimated value of over 6 million pesos.
Finally, the corresponding infraction report was issued, and by order of the competent authority, the merchandise was seized and denatured.
