In Paso de la Patria, Corrientes, institutional personnel conducted fluvial patrols and, at the request of the local crisis committee, assisted 15 families from the Los Pescadores neighborhood, comprising 44 adults and 17 minors. The operation was carried out in conjunction with the Municipal Secretariat of Human Development, Volunteer Firefighters, and health personnel from the local Dr. Eduardo Cicconetti hospital.
During the day, food, powdered milk, drinking water, and water purification tablets were delivered. Additionally, health teams performed blood pressure checks, distributed medications and insect repellents, and toured the affected areas to ascertain the needs of residents.
Furthermore, in the island zone of the Paraguay River, Prefectura personnel carried out preventive tasks on Sargento Mayor Bernardo Aguilar Island (formerly Apando Island), where they contacted residents to assess their living conditions, identify potential assistance needs, and evaluate possible evacuation requirements. They also provided information on official emergency and communication channels. To date, no requests for assistance have been registered in that sector.
In coordination with the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), under the National Ministry of Security, the institution continues to monitor hydrometric scales and recommends that navigators and riverside residents stay informed through official channels and take necessary precautions due to increased currents.
Thus, Prefectura continues to deploy its resources and personnel to prevent risks, support riverside communities, and provide assistance in potential emergencies.
