The Hidramar Ultra 22000 floating dry dock of Tenerife Shipyards (Spain) has been inaugurated. The infrastructure represented an investment of 40.7 million euros.
The complex was inaugurated in the East dock located in the Port of Tenerife with the Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, and the president of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pedro Suárez.
The infrastructure is 240 meters long and 48 meters wide, allowing the shipyard to service Panamax-type vessels.
According to reports, the arrival of a vessel with these characteristics is expected on September 18 for its respective propulsion review and hull treatment, in which 600 workers will participate.
The project was supported by European Union community funds, covering 20.3 million euros, nearly half of the investment.
