With over 17.4 million tons mobilized by the end of July 2026, it positions itself among the main national ports in cargo movement.
Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, August 24, 2026.- Lázaro Cárdenas Port maintains a favorable dynamic in its operations by the end of July 2026, achieving a movement of 17,480,520 tons of commercial cargo, a figure that represents a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This result is complemented by the arrival of 1,049 vessels during the reported period.
Of the total volume mobilized, 49% corresponded to containerized cargo, while 36% was represented by mineral bulk and 5% by general cargo. The remaining 10% was comprised of vehicles, agricultural bulk, petroleum fluids, and other fluids, demonstrating the wide range of segments that are part of the port's operation.
One of the main components of this activity was the movement of containerized cargo, which reached 1,582,996 TEUs, registering a 7% growth compared to July 2025. Of this volume, 25% corresponded to imports, another 25% to exports, and 50% to transshipment operations. In the process of cargo evacuation, 72% of the movement was carried out by road transport, while 28% was mobilized by rail.
On the other hand, automotive activity registered 378,347 units mobilized, of which 70% corresponded to imports, 28% to exports, and 2% to transshipments, maintaining the port as a relevant point for vehicle distribution within national territory.
These results reflect Lázaro Cárdenas Port's capacity to handle various cargo segments and respond to the needs of supply chains, supported by its infrastructure, connectivity, and coordination among the different actors of the port community.
