Vehicle Imports Drop 6.3% in Mexican Pacific Ports Due to Tariffs

Mexican Pacific ports received 425,660 vehicle units between January and August 2026, a 6.3% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. This contraction was concentrated in Mazatlán and Lázaro Cárdenas, affected by the 50% tariff established on January 1, 2026, for automobiles from countries without trade agreements with Mexico, in addition to the advance imports made by automakers in 2025.
