Maersk implements 12.5% fuel surcharge in Greece effective August 24
Maersk announced an exceptional fuel surcharge adjustment for Greece effective 24th Aug 2026, setting truck surcharges at 12.5% due to increased fuel costs stemming from the Middle East situation. The carrier will conduct weekly reviews instead of monthly ones, with updates every Friday, and surcharges will be coded as EFS (Export Fuel Surcharge) and IFS (Import Fuel Surcharge) on invoices. The measure will remain in place as long as necessary to cover increased operational costs.
