Drone strike hits Greek-managed tanker loading oil near Novorossiysk
A Liberia-flagged oil tanker, the Skiros, was struck by an aerial drone on 16 August while loading oil near Novorossiysk, Russia. Video from Greek broadcaster SKAI shows the drone striking the vessel's bridge, which caught fire. The 2009-built Suezmax tanker, managed by Piraeus-based company IMS, measures 274.7 meters in length and 48.03 meters in width. The extent of damage, crew injuries, and pollution remain unclear, and no party has claimed responsibility.
