U.S. finalizes $3.3 billion Arctic Security Cutters contracts with Bollinger and Rauma Marine

The United States finalized $3.3 billion in contracts for six Arctic Security Cutters: $2.2 billion with Bollinger Shipyards for four Polar Class 4 vessels and $1.1 billion with Finland's Rauma Marine Constructions for two sister ships. Deliveries are scheduled through 2031, with the first Finnish-built cutter expected in 2028 and the first U.S.-built vessel in 2029. Bollinger revealed construction on the lead vessel began in April, months before the contract announcement.
