Container Freight Index Rises 1% to USD 4,500 per FEU

The Drewry World Container Index increased by 1% to USD 4,500 per 40-foot container in the week of September 17, 2026. Trans-Pacific routes led the increase with rises of 5% to Los Angeles (USD 7,712) and 7% to New York (USD 10,394), driven by capacity management ahead of China's Golden Week. In contrast, Asia-Europe rates fell, with decreases of 5% to Genoa (USD 4,016) and 9% to Rotterdam (USD 3,626), reflecting weak demand.
