Port of Rotterdam Takes New Step in Shore Power Supply by Inaugurating Connection at Parkkade
The Port of Rotterdam inaugurates a shore power connection at Parkkade, allowing vessels to switch off their diesel generators. The facility utilizes the existing Maas Tunnel connection and features four berths for sea-going vessels and one for inland vessels. The project, initiated in 2022, aligns with Rotterdam's ambition to make shore power the norm by 2030 and achieve emission-free berthing by 2050.
