Port of Rotterdam to be a development center for circular iron fuel
The technology company RIFT has chosen the Port of Rotterdam to develop a commercial production plant for circular iron fuel on a plot in Margriethaven, Maasvlakte. In the electrified plant, iron oxide is transformed into circular iron fuel using hydrogen, generating heat and steam without direct CO₂ emissions. RIFT anticipates the plant to be operational around 2031.
