FSUI Demands Safety Intervention for 16 Indian Crew on AM Pioneer Hormuz Transit
The Forward Seamen's Union of India (FSUI) has called for immediate intervention from Indian authorities regarding the safety of 16 Indian crewmembers aboard the multi-purpose offshore vessel AM Pioneer. The crew refused to transit the high-risk Strait of Hormuz under pressure from shipowners and managers, citing safety concerns amid regional security threats. The vessel, a Marshall-Island-flagged offshore vessel built in 2006, arrived at Ras Al Khaimah Port in the UAE for a routine survey before being instructed to proceed through the strait.
