EU's Aspides Mission in Red Sea Needs More Than 10 Warships

The European Union's naval mission Aspides, aimed at protecting navigation in the Red Sea, requires an increase in its forces to more than 10 warships, according to Kaja Kallas, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs. Currently, six vessels are operating. The mission, launched in 2024, faces attacks from Iran-aligned Houthis from Yemen, impacting European supply chains.
