King Willem-Alexander and Van Veldhoven inaugurate 32-km hydrogen pipeline in Rotterdam
His Majesty the King and Minister Stientje van Veldhoven officially activated the first section of the national hydrogen network in Rotterdam on 20 May 2026, a 32-kilometre pipeline connecting Maasvlakte and Pernis. The completion marks the first operational route of what will eventually extend over approximately 1,200 kilometres, enabling hydrogen transport from production locations to industry across the Netherlands and connecting to networks in Germany and Belgium.
