RWE Surrenders U.S. Offshore Wind Leases in $1.22 Billion Settlement
RWE reached a $1.22 billion settlement with the Trump administration to relinquish offshore wind leases in the New York Bight, California and Louisiana. The company will redirect investment toward LNG and natural gas projects, including a $900 million stake in the Louisiana LNG export project and a $300 million turbine reservation agreement. RWE plans to invest approximately €17 billion in the U.S. over six years, expanding its generation portfolio from 13 GW to 22 GW by 2031.
