Cruise traffic at Riga port rises 15% with luxury vessel debuts
August marked a significant month for Riga's cruise operations, with 18 ships carrying approximately 25,000 passengers. Three premium vessels—Scenic Eclipse II, Seven Seas Grandeur, and Explora III—made inaugural calls. By August's end, 55 cruise ships had visited during the season, a 15% increase year-over-year. Full-season projections indicate approximately 30% higher passenger numbers than the previous year, with 98 total cruise ship calls expected through December 26.
