Carnival partners with Sneaker Impact to recycle shoes across U.S. fleet
Carnival Cruise Line partnered with Sneaker Impact to launch a shoe recycling initiative across its U.S. fleet. In July, with just five ships offloading shoes, the program kept more than 500 pairs out of landfills in a single month. Scaled across the full fleet, Carnival sees the potential to give new life to about 50,000 pairs of shoes. Shoes in good condition are offered to small business owners in developing countries, while unusable footwear is recycled into products such as athletic surfaces and yoga mats.
