Cruise lines are increasingly positioning ships year-round in Northern Europe, driven by passenger interest and economic pressures. According to Cruise Baltic, cruise calls in Q4 2025 increased 33.2 percent compared to 2024, with passenger volumes expected to grow by 9.2 percent in 2026. Major operators like Holland America Line, MSC Cruises, AIDA, Viking, and Cunard are expanding winter deployments, offering unique experiences such as Christmas markets, Northern Lights viewing, and Arctic Circle cruises.
