Peru Ratifies Protocol to Optimize FTA with China
Peru has completed the internal procedures for the entry into force of the Protocol for the Optimization of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China, formalized by Supreme Decree 035-2026-RE published on July 25, 2026. The protocol modernizes existing chapters and incorporates provisions on digital economy, customs, and foreign trade. In 2025, Peruvian exports to China reached 10.748 billion dollars, while imports amounted to 17.847 billion dollars.
