Port of Barcelona Presents Nexigen Electrification Project to Red Eléctrica Española
The Port of Barcelona and Red Eléctrica Española (REE) held a technical workshop to present the Nexigen dock electrification project, which brought together over 50 REE professionals. Ana Arévalo, Head of the Shorepower Department, explained the characteristics of the electrical infrastructures already built and in operation, as well as those currently under construction. The Nexigen project, with an investment of over 200 million euros, will allow clean energy to be supplied to ships so they can turn off their auxiliary engines while docked.
