UK Permits Liabilities Limitation in Solong-Stena Immaculate 2025 Allision
The UK Admiralty Court permitted the owners and operators of the containership Solong to limit their liabilities from the March 10, 2025 incident when the vessel collided with the anchored tanker Stena Immaculate off Hull, killing one crewmember and destroying the containership. Justice Andrew Barker rejected claims by Stena Bulk and Crowley that the owners knowingly allowed the ship to sail with operational problems. The liability has been capped at approximately $20 million to be split among all claimants.
