Produce Prepares Contingency Plan for Fishing Sector Ahead of El Niño
The Ministry of Production is evaluating support measures to mitigate the effects of El Niño on fishing activity, especially in the industrial anchovy sector. Minister César Manuel Quispe Luján reported that the first fishing season remains suspended pending the Enfen report expected by the end of June. Among the measures analyzed are credit lines with grace periods and deferred amortization schemes for affected companies and workers.
