The meeting was attended by the CEO of PortosRio, Flavio Vieira da Silva, the Secretary of the Blue Economy of CTB-RJ, Cecília de Fátima Rodrigues, and the Secretary of Political Formation and Culture of CTB-RJ, Luiz André Ferreira Costa.
The agreement establishes institutional cooperation to foster the production of knowledge, technical debate, and the formulation of proposals aimed at strengthening activities related to the maritime and port environment of Rio de Janeiro.
Among the planned initiatives is the creation of the Permanent Forum on the Blue Economy of the State of Rio de Janeiro, a consultative and propositional space dedicated to discussing the challenges and opportunities of the sector, with the participation of representatives of workers, port authorities, companies from the maritime, port, and naval sectors, universities, research centers, governments, and civil society organizations.
The forum will focus on themes such as job and income generation, professional qualification, women's participation in the Blue Economy, cabotage, logistics, port infrastructure, naval industry, sustainability, technological innovation, and regional development.
According to the CEO of PortosRio, Flavio Vieira da Silva, the initiative reinforces the port authority's commitment to the sustainable development of the sector.
"PortosRio has been working to increase the competitiveness of Rio de Janeiro's public ports and understands that institutional dialogue is fundamental to boost the Blue Economy. This partnership creates an environment of cooperation that will contribute to the economic and social development of the state."
The Secretary of the Blue Economy of CTB-RJ, Cecília de Fátima Rodrigues, emphasized the importance of integration among the various segments involved.
"The Blue Economy brings together strategic activities for Rio de Janeiro. The creation of this forum will allow for the participatory construction of proposals, strengthening professional qualification, the generation of opportunities, and the sustainability of the sector."
Among the expected results of the partnership are the elaboration of diagnoses on Rio de Janeiro's Blue Economy, sectoral reports, public policy recommendations, professional qualification proposals, and the construction of a strategic agenda for the development of the sector until 2030.
