Port of Santos Strengthens Protocols Amid WHO Ebola Alert

The Port Authority of Santos (APS) intensified preparedness measures against potential Ebola virus outbreaks on foreign vessels, following the WHO's declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). In collaboration with the Epidemiological Surveillance Group (GVE) of Santos, the São Paulo State Health Secretariat, and Anvisa, training sessions were conducted in late June for pilots and early July for port medical teams on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and response protocols for suspected cases.
