Senate Confirms Robert Harvey to Fill Last Vacant FMC Commissioner Postion
The U.S. Senate confirmed Robert Harvey to the Federal Maritime Commission on May 18, 2026, filling a vacancy since June 30, 2025. Harvey, a lawyer and colleague of new Chairman Laura DiBella, was nominated last September for a three-year term expiring June 30, 2029. His confirmation comes as the FMC addresses critical maritime issues including the Net Zero Framework and flagging practices of various countries.
