Conflict at CICE escalates; company and union clash over strike
The labor dispute at Grupo CICE in Veracruz escalated on June 1st when workers initiated a strike demanding salary improvements and profit-sharing payments. The company maintains that a judicial resolution from the Federal Labor Instructor Judge ordered the archiving of the case, rendering the movement without legal effect. CICE claims that the union did not attend the hybrid hearing on May 31st and asserts that there is no legal justification to suspend operations.
