China Confirms Attack on Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz Earlier This Week
China's foreign ministry confirmed on Friday that an oil products tanker carrying Chinese crew was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, with Chinese nationals aboard but no reported casualties. Maritime security sources identified the damaged vessel as the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker JV Innovation. The incident occurred off the United Arab Emirates coast near Mina Saqr amid ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict that has left hundreds of ships and around 20,000 seafarers stranded in the Gulf.
