The Secretariat of Agriculture of Argentina's National Ministry of Economy announced that, between January and May, 7,645 tons of pork and by-products were exported for a total value of USD 10,037,000. The volume and amount, according to the ministerial entity, represent increases of 91.2% and 156.8% respectively, compared to the same months of the previous year. Furthermore, production grew by 11.8%, totaling 354,588 tons between January and May, driven by a 9.7% increase in slaughter, which reached 3,720,893 heads during the specified period. Thus, per capita consumption in May stood at 19.59 kilograms per inhabitant per year, representing an 8.4% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.
