The members of the Brazil-Peru 2026 Commercial and Logistics Mission visited the Organized Port of Porto Velho with the aim of strengthening trade relations and expanding business opportunities between the two countries.
The delegation learned about the operational structure and logistical potential managed by the Port and Waterway Society of the State of Rondônia (Soph). The initiative brought together entrepreneurs, representatives of the productive sector, and Brazilian and Peruvian authorities to discuss strategies for economic integration, strengthening trade relations, and consolidating strategic logistics corridors between both countries.
The visit was part of the program of the Seminar on Commercial and Logistics Opportunities between Brazil and Peru, promoted by a consulting firm specialized in foreign trade, in collaboration with the Federation of Industries of the State of Rondônia (Fiero) and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur).
According to the Governor of Rondônia, Marcos Rocha, the visit reinforces the strategic role of the Port of Porto Velho in South American logistics integration, contributing to regional economic development and expanding trade relations between Brazil and Peru.
During the technical tour, the General Director of Soph, Fernando Parente, presented the new administrative facilities of the Organized Port of Porto Velho and accompanied the delegation to the floating dock, where participants could closely observe loading and unloading operations destined for the international market.
"We are strengthening our relationship with foreign trade. Presenting our structure, the investments made, and the functioning of port operations to the Peruvian representatives reinforces Rondônia's potential as a strategic logistics corridor in the Northern Region. This closer relationship creates new opportunities for entrepreneurs in Rondônia to expand their businesses and strengthen their commercial relations with the Peruvian market," affirmed Parente.
Among the mission participants was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, César Augusto Llona Silva, who highlighted the importance of knowing firsthand Rondônia's logistics infrastructure.
"We observed Rondônia's logistical potential and the advances in structure and operations oriented towards foreign trade. We are diversifying our trade relations and seeking to identify new opportunities to strengthen business between Peru and Brazil," emphasized Llona.
Logistical and commercial integration between Brazil and Peru represents a strategic opportunity to expand markets and strengthen the regional economy of the state of Rondônia. Currently, the Port of Porto Velho maintains export operations to Peru, making approximately four annual shipments with cargo ranging between 1,500 and 2,000 tons of sugar and soybean oil in each operation. On average, transport takes approximately 25 days to reach its final destination.
