PIL inaugurates service at Rio Brasil Terminal with Kota Elok vessel

The Kota Elok vessel of Pacific National Lines (PIL) made its inaugural call at Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT, Brazil), corresponding to its first voyage operating on the East Coast Service 1 (ES1) route. This itinerary connects the Asian continent with South America.

As reported by PIL on its social media, "this historic call makes even more sense because RBT is also the first carbon-neutral port along the east coast of South America, underscoring the shared commitment of PIL and RBT to advance towards a more sustainable future for maritime transport."

"To commemorate this historic moment, a special ceremony was held aboard the vessel, where RBT representatives presented a commemorative plaque to Captain Kan Liang, master of the Kota Elok, marking the beginning of a new chapter in sustainable maritime connectivity between Asia and South America," the publication added.

Regarding the container ship, it was indicated that it has a nominal capacity of 13,064 TEU with a length of 336 meters and a beam of 51 meters.

After its call in Brazil, the Kota Elok will continue its journey with stops in Argentina and Uruguay.
