Ecuador Strengthens Maritime Security with the Incorporation of the Isla Puná Patrol Boat Donated by the United States
Ecuador has incorporated the Isla Puná patrol boat, donated by the United States, as part of bilateral cooperation in maritime security. The vessel, previously named USCG Orcas, will be used for coastal patrolling, maritime monitoring, and supervision of naval corridors in areas near ports and maritime terminals in the Pacific. The cooperation includes technical assistance and institutional strengthening to enhance the confidence of maritime and commercial operators.
