COPCI Reform Aims to Clear Over 12,000 Abandoned Containers in the Country's Ports
The reform to the Organic Code of Production, Commerce, and Investments (COPCI) seeks to resolve the operational collapse in Ecuadorian maritime terminals caused by definitively abandoned goods. The new regulations streamline legal processes to clear approximately 12,000 accumulated containers. The National Customs Service of Ecuador (SENAE) will have agile tools to donate, auction, or destroy these shipments expeditiously, improving response times for multimodal transporters.
