Trade Surplus of USD 2.339 Million Boosts Ecuadorian Exports
Ecuador recorded a trade surplus of USD 2.339 million between January and June 2026, according to the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE). Exports reached a historic record, driven by the oil and non-oil sectors, with shrimp, mining products, and bananas leading sales. Imports grew by 18%, mainly due to increased purchases of raw materials, fuels, and lubricants, while China remained among the main trading partners.
