The Government is driving the recovery and modernization of the Esmeraldas Commercial Port through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The initiative aims to attract investment, improve infrastructure, and strengthen the terminal's operational capacity.
The project includes a reference investment of USD 191 million to guarantee the draft of the access channel and allow for larger vessels. Additionally, it is expected to improve the safety and efficiency of operations and attract new shipping lines.
The modernization will strengthen the movement of strategic products, such as palm oil, and diversify the handling of solid and liquid cargo. The project also seeks to generate employment, boost commercial activity, and consolidate Esmeraldas as a strategic point for international trade.
